You will feel a sense of belonging and encouragement that will help you build a new and fulfilled life. Each meeting is an opportunity for members to share memories, challenges, successes and laughter.
has been offering comfort, outings, fellowship and fun to widows and widowers of Lake and Sumter County since 1997, when David Heydt founded this group. We are a social support program supported by Beyers Funeral Home and Crematory but serving all widows and widowers. Luncheons are held the second Thursday of each month at the Leesburg Community Center and on the third Wednesday at the Elks’ Lodge in Tavares with the exception of combined life luncheons in December and April at the Leesburg Community Center.
We began offering LIFE to The Villages in September 2012 with a capacity crowd at Freedom Pointe, a wonderful residential facility at The Villages. Luncheons in The Villages will be held the second Tuesday in October and November at 11:30 a.m.
In addition to bringing the Villages into our fold, attendance at LIFE luncheons and events has been on the upswing. If we continue growing at the same rate over the next three months we will have our highest combined attendance since 2007. And we still have plenty of room to add new members in Leesburg and Tavares while considering how to continue growing in the Villages.
